SCRIPTURE

“Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.”

John 15:4

DEVOTIONAL

A branch does not begin the morning by manufacturing life.

It receives. Its strength, growth, and fruit come through connection to a source beyond itself. Jesus uses this ordinary image to expose our exhausting habit of trying to produce spiritual life independently.

Remain in Me. Before fruit, before usefulness, before visible growth—remain.

Give Christ your attention before giving the day your output. You are not a machine being started. You are a branch being kept alive.

Fruitfulness begins as dependence long before it becomes visible activity.

Where are you trying to produce life from your own supply?

What practice will help you remain attentive to Christ today?

PRAYER

Jesus, keep me joined to You. Let my words, work, and choices rise from Your life rather than anxious self-production. Teach me to remain. Amen.
