MIDDAY BEARINGS 035: READ THE MILE MARKERS

SCRIPTURE

“You shall remember all the way which Yahweh your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness.”

Deuteronomy 8:2

DEVOTIONAL

The road teaches while we are busy traveling it.

At midday, look back over the week’s mile markers. Where did irritation rise? Where did courage arrive? What closed? What opened? Which burden became lighter because someone helped carry it?

Do not rush to make every event mean something. Simply notice what repeated and what changed.

God’s leading is sometimes recognized only in hindsight. A delay becomes protection. A correction becomes mercy. An ordinary provision becomes evidence that you were not traveling alone.

Read the markers slowly. The road may be saying more than you heard while walking it.

Reflection turns experience into wisdom by placing the traveled road before God.

Which moment looks different now than when you first passed through it?

PRAYER

Yahweh, teach me to read the road truthfully. Keep me from forgetting Your provision or wasting Your correction. Give me wisdom for the miles ahead. Amen.
