Dawn Watch 002 - Mercies For This Morning

Yesterday’s strength was given for yesterday. God has already prepared new mercy for the life awaiting you now.

“They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

LAMENTATIONS 3:23

THE MORNING PORTION

You have awakened inside mercy you did not manufacture.

The breath in your lungs was given. The night carried you without your supervision. The sun began rising before you opened your eyes. God has already been faithful this morning in ways you did not witness.

Yet we often rise carrying yesterday as though the night never came.

Yesterday’s failures speak first. Yesterday’s unfinished work waits beside the bed. Yesterday’s shame tries to dress itself in today’s clothes.

But the Lord does not ration today’s mercy according to yesterday’s performance.

His mercy is new because your need is new.

The grace that carried you through what has passed has not been exhausted. God is not reluctantly giving you another opportunity. His faithfulness did not weaken while you slept.

RECEIVE BEFORE YOU PRODUCE

Before you begin building, repairing, writing, training, serving, or solving, receive what cannot be earned.

You are loved before you become useful.

You are held before you prove yourself dependable.

You are invited into fellowship before you accomplish anything worthy of being seen.

This does not make today’s work unimportant. It places the work in its proper order. You do not labor to secure the Father’s attention. You labor because you already have it.

Let mercy become the ground beneath your discipline.

When you fail, return quickly.

When you become distracted, return quietly.

When the road feels heavy, remember that you were never expected to walk it using yesterday’s strength.

PRAYER

Father, thank You for mercy that arrived before I did.

Wash yesterday from my hands. Keep me from turning regret into identity or unfinished work into condemnation.

Teach me to receive Your love before I attempt to prove my usefulness. Let everything I build today rise from gratitude rather than fear.

Great is Your faithfulness.

Amen.

BENEDICTION

My mercy has not run dry.

You have not awakened beyond the reach of grace. What yesterday exposed, I am able to redeem. What yesterday exhausted, I am able to renew.

Receive today from My hand.

You may begin again.
