DAWN WATCH 036: COME BEFORE YOU CARRY
SUNDAY, AUGUST 30, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 036
SCRIPTURE
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
DEVOTIONAL
The day may already feel heavy before you have lifted anything.
There are names, needs, expectations, and unfinished matters waiting at the edge of morning. The instinct is to shoulder them quickly, as though carrying proves readiness. Jesus offers another beginning: come to Me.
He does not first hand you a better system for managing the weight. He gives you Himself. Rest begins with relationship before it becomes relief.
Bring the burden close enough to name it, but do not fasten it to your back yet. Let Christ decide what belongs in your hands today and what must remain in His.
INSIGHT
Jesus does not merely lighten our load; He teaches us where every burden should be carried.
REFLECTION
What weight did you wake up carrying?
Have you brought it to Christ before building your day around it?
PRAYER
Jesus, I come before I carry. Separate the responsibility You have given me from the weight I have taken without permission. Teach me to begin inside Your rest. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Come before you carry.
Christ is already near.
