EVENING EMBERS - 018: WHEN THE ANSWER HAS NOT ARRIVED

“Wait for Yahweh; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for Yahweh.”
— Psalm 27:14

THRESHOLD

The waiting itself has become part of the journey.

THE REFLECTION

Waiting is one of the places where trust becomes visible.

When the answer comes quickly, gratitude is natural.

When the door opens easily, faith feels uncomplicated.

But waiting reveals what we believe about God when circumstances are quiet.

The human heart often assumes that silence means absence.

It does not.

A seed beneath the soil is not dead because the ground is still.

A promise not yet fulfilled is not a promise abandoned.

God’s timing is not evidence of God’s neglect.

Sometimes the Lord is changing circumstances.

Sometimes He is changing us.

Sometimes He is doing both in ways we cannot yet recognize.

Tonight, resist the urge to force what God has not yet opened.

The closed door may not be rejection.

It may be protection.

It may be preparation.

It may simply be a reminder that God remains Lord over time.

REFLECTION

Where am I tempted to interpret waiting as abandonment?

What would trusting God’s timing look like tonight?

PRAYER

Father,

Waiting is difficult because I want to see what You are doing.

Teach me to trust You in the unseen places.

Keep me from forcing doors, rushing seasons, or demanding answers before their time.

Give me patience rooted in Your character.

You are not late.

You are faithful.

Amen.

BENEDICTION

Receive this scriptural encouragement:

The silence does not mean I have left.

The delay does not mean I have forgotten.

Trust the work happening beneath what you cannot yet see.

Wait with hope.

I am still faithful.
