Dawn Watch 003 - When You Cannot See The Turn

God does not ask you to understand every turn. He asks you to trust the One leading you through it.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

PROVERBS 3:5

THE UNSEEN ROAD

There are mornings when the direction seems clear.

There are others when every road appears unfinished.

You may know what God has placed in your heart while having no idea how He intends to bring it into being. You may see the destination faintly while the road toward it remains hidden. You may even begin wondering whether uncertainty means you have misunderstood Him.

But unclear circumstances are not proof of an absent Shepherd.

A sheep does not need to understand the landscape. It needs to recognize the shepherd’s voice and remain close enough to follow.

Our understanding is useful, but it is a poor god. It cannot see around corners. It cannot account for doors God has not opened, people we have not met, or provision already moving toward us beyond our awareness.

Faith does not require the rejection of wisdom.

It requires the surrender of control.

ACKNOWLEDGE HIM HERE

Do not wait for a dramatic sign before acknowledging God.

Acknowledge Him in the ordinary decisions:

The pace you keep.

The words you withhold.

The work you complete when nobody is watching.

The boundary you maintain.

The temptation you flee.

The person you forgive.

The quiet task you perform with care.

The road becomes straight beneath surrendered feet, often before it becomes understandable to the traveler.

You may not receive a full explanation today.

You may receive something better: enough grace to continue walking without one.

PRAYER

Lord, I confess how quickly I lean upon my own understanding.

I want the road explained before I travel it. I want certainty before obedience and evidence before trust.

Teach me to acknowledge You in the ground directly before me. Order my steps, correct me when I wander, and keep my heart near enough to recognize Your leading.

I trust You with the turns I cannot see.

Amen.

BENEDICTION

Do not fear the bend in the road.

I am already present where your sight ends. You are not being led by chance, and you are not required to understand everything I am doing.

Keep your heart near Me.

I will direct your path.
