DAWN WATCH 075: HONOR THE SMALL BEGINNING
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 075
SCRIPTURE
“Indeed, who despises the day of small things?”
Zechariah 4:10
DEVOTIONAL
Small beginnings rarely resemble the future they contain.
A first page does not look like a finished book. One honest conversation does not look like a restored relationship. A single boundary does not look like a changed life. Yet faithful beginnings carry direction.
Do not ask today’s first step to prove the whole journey. Honor what God has placed in your hands at its present size. Tend it without exaggeration and without contempt.
The beginning is allowed to be small.
INSIGHT
Faithfulness honors the seed without demanding that it already provide the shade of a mature tree.
REFLECTION
What beginning have you dismissed because it looks too small?
What care does it require at its present size?
PRAYER
God, teach me to honor small beginnings. Free me from the demand for immediate proof, and make me faithful with what has only just begun. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Honor the small beginning.
It does not have to look finished to be faithful.
