DAWN WATCH 087: HONOR THE SMALL TRUST

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 087

SCRIPTURE

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much:”

Luke 16:10 (KJV, excerpt)

DEVOTIONAL

Some responsibilities arrive without an audience.

A borrowed object needs returning. A promise needs remembering. A figure needs checking before it is passed along. These small trusts can seem like interruptions to the work we consider important.

Jesus speaks about faithfulness in what is least while teaching about the use of resources. The ordinary handling of what is entrusted to us matters. We do not become trustworthy only when the assignment grows large enough to attract notice.

Choose one small trust to honor today. Give it enough attention to complete it well. You are not proving your worth by flawless performance. You are practicing care for something that has been placed in your hands, and often for the person affected by it.

INSIGHT

Small responsibilities are real opportunities to practice trustworthy care.

REFLECTION

What small trust have you been treating as optional?

Who is affected by the way you handle it?

PRAYER

Lord, help me honor what has been entrusted to me. Give me care for the small responsibility and honesty about the places where I have been careless. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Honor the small trust.

Quiet faithfulness still carries weight.
