WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 094
SCRIPTURE
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Hope does not need you to look away from what is difficult.
Paul places hope beside tribulation and persistent prayer. These are not separate lives, one for joyful people and another for those who struggle. They belong together within the life of faith.
Name the difficulty that will accompany you into today. Then ask what you may still receive, practice, or offer within it. Perhaps you can accept help, keep a needed appointment, or bring an honest prayer instead of rehearsing the burden alone.
Christian hope reaches beyond the demand for an immediately favorable outcome. You do not have to predict how the day will end in order to turn toward God within it. Begin with your eyes open and your heart willing to be sustained.
INSIGHT
Hope can remain truthful about hardship while turning toward God for sustaining grace.
REFLECTION
What difficulty needs to be named honestly this morning?
What act of hope is possible within it today?
PRAYER
Lord, give me hope that does not depend on pretending. Meet me in what is difficult, help me receive support, and keep me willing to pray and act faithfully. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Begin with honest hope.
You may face the difficulty and still turn toward God.
