MIDDAY BEARINGS 038: FAITHFUL IN THE MIDDLE
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 038
SCRIPTURE
“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much.”
Luke 16:10
DEVOTIONAL
Beginnings receive attention. Endings receive celebration. The middle is where faithfulness becomes visible.
By midday, the task is no longer fresh. The promise has become inconvenient. Enthusiasm has thinned, and the ordinary work of continuing remains.
This is where small obedience matters. Not dramatic resolve—just the next honest measure. Return the call. Correct the mistake. Keep the boundary. Finish the portion that belongs to this hour.
God is not asking you to feel inspired by every act of faithfulness. He is asking you to remain present to it.
INSIGHT
The middle tests whether our commitment can live without the energy of a beginning or the reward of an ending.
REFLECTION
Where are you tempted to become careless because the work feels ordinary?
What would one faithful measure look like now?
PRAYER
Lord, meet me in the uncelebrated middle. Give steadiness to my hands and integrity to my choices. Help me continue without needing the work to feel important. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Stay with the faithful measure.
The middle is forming you.
