DAWN WATCH 038: THE LITTLE THING
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 038
SCRIPTURE
“He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much.”
Luke 16:10
DEVOTIONAL
The day rarely announces which moment will matter most.
Faithfulness often arrives disguised as something small: returning what you borrowed, keeping a quiet promise, answering truthfully, putting the object back where it belongs, or giving full attention to the person in front of you.
We are tempted to save our best obedience for visible assignments. Jesus directs attention to the little thing. Character is not waiting for a larger stage. It is being formed in the ordinary choices no one thinks to record.
Do not despise the scale of what is before you this morning. Small ground is still holy ground when it is placed beneath the rule of Christ.
INSIGHT
Little responsibilities reveal whether faithfulness is our character or merely our performance.
REFLECTION
What small responsibility is already before you?
How can you meet it with an undivided heart?
PRAYER
Jesus, make me faithful where the work is small and the audience is absent. Keep me from overlooking the ordinary places where You are forming my life. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Attend to the little thing.
The kingdom is present there too.
