SCRIPTURE

“If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.”

Psalm 139:9–10

DEVOTIONAL

At the end of the day, unfamiliarity can feel like loneliness.

Small differences accumulate—the sounds outside, the distance from familiar faces, the routines not yet formed. The soul may begin to ask where home has gone.

The psalm does not say every place will feel familiar. It says no place is empty of God. His hand is present before belonging has had time to grow.

Let tonight be held without requiring it to feel settled. Home can begin as the place where you discover that God was already waiting.

Belonging often begins with receiving God’s presence before a new place feels like ours.

PRAYER

God, hold me in this place before it feels like home. Meet the loneliness change can uncover, and teach my soul to recognize Your presence here. Amen.
