DAWN WATCH 034: DO NOT DESPISE THE FIELD
FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 034
SCRIPTURE
“Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”
Galatians 6:9
DEVOTIONAL
A field rarely answers the farmer on the day the seed enters the ground.
Much of faithfulness is like that. You forgive again. You keep the promise. You return to prayer. You do the honest work. Nothing visible seems to rise.
Weariness begins whispering that hidden goodness is wasted goodness. Scripture answers with the language of seasons. There is planting, waiting, tending, and eventually reaping. The delay does not mean the seed has been forgotten.
You are not responsible for forcing the harvest. You are responsible for refusing to abandon the good merely because it has not yet become visible.
INSIGHT
Faithfulness trusts that God can work beneath ground we cannot see.
REFLECTION
Where are you tired of doing good?
What seed needs patient tending rather than immediate proof?
PRAYER
Father, strengthen my tired hands. Keep me from measuring obedience only by visible results. Give me grace to tend the field and trust You with its season. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Do not despise the buried seed.
God also works underground.
