MIDDAY BEARINGS 054: HELP BEYOND THE HORIZON
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 054
SCRIPTURE
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1–2
DEVOTIONAL
Help does not always arrive from the direction we are watching.
We expect one person, one outcome, or one solution to rescue the day. When it fails to appear, fear concludes that no help is coming.
The psalmist anchors help in Yahweh, Maker of heaven and earth. God may use familiar means, or He may provide through a door you did not know to watch.
Do the faithful work within reach, but do not narrow God’s provision to the route you have imagined.
INSIGHT
Trust leaves room for God to provide without being confined to our preferred method.
REFLECTION
From which direction have you demanded that help arrive?
Can you remain open to provision in another form?
PRAYER
Maker of heaven and earth, I release my demand that help come by the route I prefer. Open my eyes to Your provision and make me humble enough to receive it. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Help is not limited to your horizon.
The Maker has more than one road.
