DAWN WATCH 054: LIFT YOUR EYES

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 054

SCRIPTURE

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121:1–2

DEVOTIONAL

The eyes naturally settle on whatever feels largest.

A problem fills the foreground. A deadline blocks the horizon. The mind studies the obstacle until it becomes the only landscape we can see.

The psalmist lifts his eyes to the hills, then looks beyond them to the Maker of heaven and earth. The hills are real. They are not ultimate.

Lift your eyes this morning. Not to deny what stands before you, but to restore its proper size beneath the God who made the horizon.

INSIGHT

Perspective changes when the obstacle is seen within creation rather than mistaken for its ruler.

REFLECTION

What has filled your entire field of vision?

What becomes visible when you look beyond it toward God?

PRAYER

Yahweh, lift my eyes above the problem without turning me away from responsibility. Restore the horizon and remind me where my help comes from. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Lift your eyes.

The Maker is larger than the hill.
