MIDDAY BEARINGS 051: FAITHFUL WHERE YOU ARE

SCRIPTURE

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”

Matthew 25:21

DEVOTIONAL

The desire for something larger can make the present assignment feel temporary.

We hurry through ordinary work as though our real life begins after recognition, expansion, or change. Yet faithfulness cannot be postponed until the conditions become impressive.

The servant was faithful where he had already been placed. The current field became the proving ground of his character.

Return to where you are. Do the next task honestly. Listen fully. Keep the boundary. Make the repair. The kingdom does not wait for a larger stage.

INSIGHT

The place we keep calling temporary may be the place where God is forming something permanent in us.

REFLECTION

Where are you treating the present as merely a waiting room?

What would faithfulness look like there this afternoon?

PRAYER

Father, bring me back to the place where my feet actually stand. Keep me from postponing obedience until life looks larger. Make me faithful here. Amen.
