DAWN WATCH 055: COURAGE TO WAIT
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 055
SCRIPTURE
“Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.”
Psalm 27:14
DEVOTIONAL
Waiting is often mistaken for weakness.
We imagine courage as immediate action—the quick answer, the decisive move, the door forced open. The psalm joins courage to waiting. Sometimes strength is the refusal to move before wisdom arrives.
Waiting for Yahweh is not empty inactivity. It is attentive restraint. We remain available, truthful, and ready without using anxiety to manufacture timing.
If the road is not yet clear this morning, do not call the pause a failure. Courage may look like staying where God can guide you.
INSIGHT
Waiting becomes courageous when it resists both panic and the false relief of premature action.
REFLECTION
Where are you tempted to act simply to end uncertainty?
What would courageous waiting require today?
PRAYER
Yahweh, strengthen my heart for the waiting place. Keep me attentive without becoming frantic, and ready without forcing what has not yet ripened. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Let your heart take courage.
Waiting is also part of the road.
