Midday Bearings 007 - Rest Before The Finish

Even the strongest travelers pause beside quiet waters.

“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.”
Psalm 23:2–3

PAUSE

The world teaches us to sprint until we collapse.

The Shepherd teaches us to rest before collapse becomes necessary.

Rest is not laziness.

It is trust.

A soul that never pauses eventually forgets who is carrying it.

Take a slow breath.

Lift your eyes.

Remember whose flock you belong to.

MIDDAY PRAYER

Good Shepherd,

Restore what this week has worn thin.

Refresh my soul for the road still ahead.

Amen.

TODAY’S BEARING

Receive a few quiet minutes as a gift instead of something you must earn.

Go in peace. Christ walks before you.
