EVENING EMBERS 039: DO NOT MISS THE SPRING
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 039
SCRIPTURE
“Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19
DEVOTIONAL
A spring can be overlooked when we are waiting for a river.
Perhaps nothing dramatic changed today. Yet you answered differently. You accepted help. A moment of peace lasted longer than usual. A hard truth became possible to name.
These are not the whole river, but they may be water beginning to move.
Evening invites you to notice newness without demanding completion. Give thanks for the first evidence of grace. Protect it from cynicism. Let small beginnings remain small without calling them insignificant.
INSIGHT
Recognition is part of stewardship; we tend new grace more faithfully when we learn to notice it.
REFLECTION
What was slightly different today?
Could it be the beginning of something God is bringing to life?
PRAYER
God, keep me from overlooking the spring because I wanted a river. Thank You for every small beginning. Teach me to notice, protect, and follow the life You give. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Do not miss the spring.
The river may begin quietly.
