MIDDAY BEARINGS 039: A ROAD WHERE NONE WAS

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 039

SCRIPTURE

“Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:19

DEVOTIONAL

Sometimes the next step appears only after we reach the place where our own road ends.

By midday, you may have met a closed door, a changed plan, or a limit you cannot negotiate. The absence of a familiar path can feel like the absence of God. Isaiah tells another story: God makes ways in wilderness.

A new road may not resemble the route you expected. It may require humility, help, patience, or a smaller pace. Do not reject provision because it arrived in an unfamiliar form.

Ask for the path that is actually opening, not merely the restoration of the one you preferred.

INSIGHT

God’s provision may answer our need without preserving our original plan.

REFLECTION

Which expected road has closed?

Is another faithful path beginning to appear?

PRAYER

Yahweh, I release the road I assumed I needed. Show me the way You are making, and give me courage to walk it without demanding that it resemble my plan. Amen.

BENEDICTION

The old road is not the only road.

God can lead through open wilderness.
