SCRIPTURE

“If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.”

Psalm 139:9–10

DEVOTIONAL

A new place can make ordinary things feel uncertain.

The light enters from a different window. The roads have unfamiliar names. The body knows it has left what was known, even when the move was chosen.

The psalmist imagines traveling to the farthest horizon and discovers that distance does not weaken the reach of God. Even there, His hand leads. Even there, His right hand holds.

You may be far from what once felt settled, but you are not far from God. His presence did not remain behind with the familiar.

INSIGHT

Geography can change our surroundings, but it cannot place us beyond the presence of God.

REFLECTION

What feels unfamiliar this morning?

How might the words “even there” reshape the way you enter it?

PRAYER

God, meet me in every unfamiliar place. Let Your hand lead where I do not yet know the way, and hold me when change makes me feel unsteady. Amen.
