EVENING EMBERS 032: LET GOD REMAIN GOD
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 032
SCRIPTURE
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10
DEVOTIONAL
Night exposes how difficult it is to stop governing the world.
The room grows quiet, but the mind continues issuing orders. It rewrites conversations, patrols tomorrow, and searches for one more thought that might secure the future.
Be still.
This is not a demand to empty the mind by force. It is an invitation to fill the mind with the truth that God remains God while you sleep.
The people you love are not abandoned when your eyes close. The future does not become sovereign when you stop watching it. You can release the night shift you were never meant to work.
INSIGHT
Sleep becomes an act of trust when we surrender the illusion that our vigilance keeps the world intact.
REFLECTION
What are you afraid will happen if you stop thinking about it tonight?
Can you entrust it to the God who does not sleep?
PRAYER
God, I release my private night shift as ruler of the universe. Watch over what I love, hold what I fear, and let my body rest beneath Your care. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Let God remain God.
You may sleep.
