MIDDAY BEARINGS 074: DO NOT CALL WEARINESS FAILURE
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 074
SCRIPTURE
“Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16
DEVOTIONAL
Weariness can sound like an accusation.
It tells you that if faith were stronger, the work would not feel heavy. Paul offers a truer account: outward life experiences real strain while inward life can still be renewed.
Pause before judging yourself for being tired. Fatigue may be asking for food, quiet, help, a boundary, or a slower pace. Receive the limit as information rather than shame.
Renewal may begin with admitting what has been spent.
INSIGHT
Honest limits do not contradict spiritual renewal; they often become the place where renewal is received.
REFLECTION
What weariness have you interpreted as personal failure?
What form of care or help does that weariness require?
PRAYER
Father, keep me from turning weariness into shame. Teach me to honor my limits and receive the renewal You provide through rest, truth, and help. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Do not call weariness failure.
A tired life can still be renewed.
