MIDDAY BEARINGS 078: PRESENCE IN THE DEMAND

MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 078

SCRIPTURE

“My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”

Exodus 33:14 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

By noon, the promise of presence can disappear beneath the pressure of getting things done.

The inbox fills. A plan changes. Someone needs an answer before you feel ready to give one. In that narrowing space, we often act as though everything rests on our speed and control.

Pause long enough to remember who goes with you. You can ask for wisdom while a problem remains open. You can take a breath before speaking. You can admit that another person’s help is needed without treating the admission as defeat.

God’s company is not reserved for quiet rooms. Invite your attention back to Him in the demanding room you are already in, then choose the next action with care.

INSIGHT

Remembering God’s presence creates room for a faithful response inside a demanding hour.

REFLECTION

Which demand has made you feel alone today?

What response becomes possible when you pause before acting?

PRAYER

God, meet me in this demanding hour. Steady my attention, guide my answer, and help me receive the wisdom and support You provide. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Return to the presence that goes with you.

The demand is real; so is God’s company.
