MIDDAY BEARINGS 084: REMEMBER WHO HELPED
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 084
SCRIPTURE
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”
Psalm 103:2 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Some of God’s benefits arrived through human hands.
An honest question slowed a poor decision. A shared task made the load possible. A welcome gave you space to breathe. We can receive these gifts and move on so quickly that the giver becomes almost invisible.
Choose one person whose kindness mattered this week. Tell them what their help made possible. A specific word of thanks honors the actual gift better than a vague sense of gratitude carried silently.
You cannot repay every mercy, and gratitude need not become a transaction. Let it become recognition. The road was shaped by people who gave something of themselves; remembering them keeps your own story from becoming a solitary one.
INSIGHT
Specific gratitude recognizes the people through whom provision reached us.
REFLECTION
Who helped you in a way you have not acknowledged?
What can you tell them about the effect of their kindness?
PRAYER
Father, thank You for the people who helped me. Give me words that honor their actual kindness, and keep me attentive to the gifts I receive through others. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Remember who helped.
Let gratitude reach the hands that served you.
