DAWN WATCH 084: GATHER THE MERCIES
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 084
SCRIPTURE
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”
Psalm 103:2 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
A week can leave a clearer memory of pressure than of provision.
The difficult conversation returns quickly. The helpful word fades. We remember where a plan failed and overlook the strength that allowed us to adjust. The psalmist calls the soul into remembrance.
Begin this Sunday by gathering a few concrete mercies. Name the person who helped, the wisdom that corrected a decision, the meal that sustained you, or the moment you were able to stop. Give each one room to be noticed.
You do not have to call the whole week easy to bless the Lord. Gratitude can stand beside grief and uncertainty. Let memory become truthful enough to include the kindness that accompanied you.
INSIGHT
Gratitude restores neglected truth to a memory crowded by difficulty.
REFLECTION
Which mercy nearly disappeared from your account of the week?
What can you thank God for without denying what was hard?
PRAYER
Lord, teach my soul to remember. Help me name the benefits I received this week and bless You honestly amid everything that remains difficult. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Gather the mercies.
The week contained more than its strain.
