MIDDAY BEARINGS 087: CARE WHEN NO ONE NOTICES
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 087
SCRIPTURE
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much:”
Luke 16:10 (KJV, excerpt)
DEVOTIONAL
The hidden detail can be the first thing sacrificed when time grows short.
We may assume that an unnoticed shortcut has no consequence. Yet another person may depend on the accuracy of our work, the reliability of our promise, or the condition in which we leave a shared space.
Look at the task in front of you through the eyes of the person who receives it next. What information will they need? What uncertainty can you remove? What mistake should be corrected before it travels farther?
Faithfulness does not require endless polishing. It asks for appropriate care. Complete what matters, name any limit honestly, and resist presenting unfinished work as finished simply because the gap may be hard to see.
INSIGHT
Integrity considers the person who will inherit the consequences of our work.
REFLECTION
Who receives the next part of what you are doing?
What detail deserves care before you pass it along?
PRAYER
God, keep me honest in the hidden places of today’s work. Help me give appropriate care and communicate clearly about what is complete and what remains. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Care for the person beyond the task.
Let integrity travel with what you hand over.
