MIDDAY BEARINGS 092: WHEN THE PLAN NEEDS ROOM

MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 092

SCRIPTURE

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

The morning’s plan may already have met something it did not include.

A delay, a question, or another person’s need can expose how much comfort we placed in the schedule. Sometimes we defend the plan long after it has stopped serving the actual situation.

Pause before calling every interruption a failure. What has changed? Which responsibility remains? Is there someone whose knowledge could help you see more clearly? Trusting God can include revising your approach rather than tightening your grip on it.

You do not have to welcome every disruption or pretend it costs nothing. Name the cost honestly, then respond to the day that is here. A faithful plan is a tool for service, not a promise that life will remain under your control.

INSIGHT

A change of plan can be an occasion for discernment rather than a verdict of failure.

REFLECTION

What part of your plan needs to respond to new information?

Whose perspective could help you see the situation more clearly?

PRAYER

Lord, meet me where the day differs from my expectations. Keep frustration from closing my attention, and help me revise what needs revising without losing sight of what matters. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Make room for the day that is here.

Let wisdom shape the next step.
