WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 094
SCRIPTURE
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
A long difficulty can make the present hour feel like the whole future.
The mind stretches today’s strain across weeks that have not arrived. We become weary not only from what is happening, but from carrying every imagined continuation of it.
Return to this portion of the road. What is being asked of you now? What help is available for this part? Patience does not require you to approve of the hardship or refuse necessary change. It can mean attending steadily to the next right action without claiming you must carry the entire future at once.
Bring one brief prayer into the actual hour. Let it be plain enough to pray while working, waiting, or asking for help. Continued prayer can accompany a difficult day without making every moment feel resolved.
INSIGHT
Patience attends to the present responsibility without turning it into the whole imagined future.
REFLECTION
What future weight have you added to the present hour?
What help or next action belongs to this portion of the road?
PRAYER
Father, give me patience for this portion. Help me act where action is needed, receive the support available, and leave tomorrow’s weight outside this hour. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Walk this portion with care.
You do not have to carry every mile at once.
