DAWN WATCH 066: BEGIN BY REMAINING

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 066

SCRIPTURE

“Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.”

John 15:4

DEVOTIONAL

We are tempted to begin with producing.

The day presents its measures: messages answered, work completed, needs met, progress made. Jesus begins elsewhere. Before fruit, there is remaining.

To remain is to receive life before attempting to display it. Stay near Christ through His words, honest prayer, and a willingness to be led. Productivity can imitate fruit for a while, but it cannot create the life from which true fruit grows.

Begin connected, not merely busy.

INSIGHT

Christian fruit grows from communion with Christ, not from the pressure to appear spiritually productive.

REFLECTION

What are you trying to produce before you have received?

What practice will help you remain near Christ this morning?

PRAYER

Jesus, keep me in You before the demands of this day scatter my attention. Let every true fruit grow from Your life rather than my pressure. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Begin by remaining.

Life comes before fruit.
