EVENING EMBERS 065: COUNT THE MERCIES
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 065
SCRIPTURE
“It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22–23
DEVOTIONAL
Mercy is often quieter than the trouble it carried us through.
At night, difficulty may dominate the memory of the day. Yet compassion may have appeared as restraint, provision, a softened conversation, enough energy to finish, or grace to leave something unfinished.
Name the sorrow truthfully, then look beside it. Gratitude does not erase pain. It gives mercy its rightful place in the account.
The day contained more than what hurt.
INSIGHT
Truthful remembrance holds suffering and mercy together without forcing either one to disappear.
REFLECTION
What mercy was easy to overlook today?
What difficulty can you name without allowing it to become the whole story?
PRAYER
God of compassion, give me a truthful memory of this day. Receive what hurt, and teach me to recognize every quiet mercy that carried me. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Count the mercies without denying the sorrow.
Faithfulness was present too.
