SCRIPTURE

“Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.”

John 15:4

DEVOTIONAL

Attention drifts even when intention was sincere.

You may have begun the morning centered and reached noon running on irritation, fear, or sheer momentum. The invitation of Jesus has not expired. Remain can also mean return.

Pause long enough to notice what is feeding your response. Is it the need to prove yourself, the fear of disappointing someone, or the life of Christ within you? Reconnection may be as simple as one honest sentence of prayer before the next task.

The branch is welcomed back to its source.

Spiritual remaining includes repeated returns whenever hurry or fear becomes our source of energy.

How can you return to Christ before continuing?

Jesus, I have drifted into my own strength. Draw my attention back to You and let Your life shape my next words, decision, and pace. Amen.
