SCRIPTURE

“Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.”

Psalm 143:8

DEVOTIONAL

Many voices try to speak first in the morning.

Concern names everything that might go wrong. Obligation lists what must be carried. Regret repeats what yesterday left unresolved. The psalmist asks for another first word: cause me to hear Your loving kindness.

God’s love is not background music for the day. It is the truth from which the day can be entered. Before you interpret the road by its demands, receive the mercy of the One who already knows where it leads.

Let love speak before fear explains the morning to you.

The first truth we receive often becomes the lens through which we interpret every demand that follows.

What voice usually speaks first when you wake?

What changes when God’s loving kindness becomes the first word?

PRAYER

Yahweh, cause me to hear Your loving kindness this morning. Let Your love speak before fear, pressure, or regret, and teach me to begin from trust. Amen.
