MIDDAY BEARINGS 071: SHOW ME THE WAY TO WALK

SCRIPTURE

“Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.”

Psalm 143:8

DEVOTIONAL

A road becomes real when the feet must choose it.

By midday, several directions may seem possible. One protects your image. Another avoids discomfort. A quieter path asks for honesty, patience, or courage. The psalmist does not merely ask to know the way; he asks to know the way in which he should walk.

Guidance is more than information. It is truth received deeply enough to direct the next action. Lift the decision to God without disguising what you want from it.

Then walk the way that keeps trust, love, and integrity together.

Godly direction is recognized not only by where it leads but by the kind of person it asks us to become while walking.

PRAYER

God, show me the way in which I should walk. Strip away self-protection and haste, and make the next faithful direction clear. Amen.
