DAWN WATCH 081: BEGIN WITH YOUR PART
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 081
SCRIPTURE
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
Romans 12:18 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Peace often begins before the conversation begins.
It begins when we stop rehearsing the sentence that will put someone in their place. It begins when we admit that we may not understand the whole story. Paul calls us toward peace while recognizing that its outcome does not rest in one person’s hands.
Ask what lies within you today. Perhaps it is a truthful explanation, a quieter tone, an apology, or a boundary that can be stated without contempt. You cannot choose another person’s answer, but you can prepare your own.
Let God search the intention beneath your words. Enter the conversation seeking what is right and restorative, with enough humility to learn and enough courage to remain honest.
INSIGHT
Peace begins with responsibility for our own conduct rather than control over another person’s response.
REFLECTION
What intention are you carrying toward a difficult person?
What part of a peaceful response lies within your choice?
PRAYER
Father, search the motives I bring into this day. Help me seek peace with honesty, humility, and courage. Show me the part that belongs to me. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Begin with your part.
Give peace an honest place to start.
