TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 093
SCRIPTURE
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
The day before you is a gift with limits.
We often respond to those limits by trying to fit more inside them. Yet the psalm’s prayer is not simply for greater efficiency. It asks God to teach us how to live wisely in the days we are given.
Before filling the hours, ask what deserves your presence. A necessary duty may need steady work. A person may need your undivided attention. Your own limits may need an honest place in the plan. Wisdom considers what the day is for, not only how much it can contain.
Choose one priority you can name plainly. Let it guide the smaller decisions that will ask for your time. You cannot make today endless, but you can receive it with care instead of treating it as an obstacle between you and a better life elsewhere.
INSIGHT
Numbering our days invites wise attention to their purpose as well as their limits.
REFLECTION
What deserves your best attention today?
Which lesser demand could crowd that attention out?
PRAYER
Father, teach me to receive this day wisely. Help me honor its responsibilities, attend to its people, and accept the limits within which love is practiced. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Receive the day you have been given.
Let wisdom give its hours direction.
