THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 095
SCRIPTURE
“But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Hebrews 13:16 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Generosity often begins before anything changes hands.
It begins when we notice another person’s need and recognize that something entrusted to us could help. The language of sharing in Hebrews brings worship close to the ordinary use of our resources.
Look at what is actually available today. Time, a useful skill, a spare item, or a clear piece of information may be part of it. You do not need unlimited resources to practice thoughtful generosity, and you do not need to promise what you cannot responsibly give.
Ask what would truly serve the person rather than simply satisfy your wish to feel helpful. A respectful question may come before an offer. Let today’s goodness have an actual recipient, a fitting shape, and enough humility to listen.
INSIGHT
Thoughtful generosity notices both the resources available and the dignity of the person receiving them.
REFLECTION
What could you responsibly share today?
What question would help you understand whether your offer would serve?
PRAYER
Father, open my attention to the good I can do. Help me share responsibly, listen before assuming, and honor the dignity of those I hope to serve. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Notice what is yours to share.
Let generosity take a thoughtful form.
