WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 094
SCRIPTURE
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
By evening, the prayer you can offer may be shorter than the need you carry.
You may not have a fresh explanation, a strong feeling, or a carefully ordered request. Weariness can make us think we have nothing worthy to bring before God.
Paul’s call to continue in prayer is not a demand for constant eloquence. Bring the true words you have. ‘Help me.’ ‘Thank You for getting me through this hour.’ ‘I do not know what comes next.’ These can be honest prayers rather than failed versions of longer ones.
Name any practical support you need to seek tomorrow, then allow yourself to stop speaking. Prayer is not a performance that must become impressive before you may rest. The day can end with a few truthful words placed before God.
INSIGHT
Persistent prayer can be simple, truthful, and small enough for a weary person to offer.
REFLECTION
What brief prayer tells the truth about tonight?
What support should you reach toward tomorrow?
PRAYER
God, I bring You the words I have and the need I cannot fully express. Sustain me through this night, and guide me toward the help and faithfulness of tomorrow. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Let the small prayer be enough to offer.
Rest without performing strength.
