SCRIPTURE
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
A burden can become so familiar that we stop noticing its weight.
We plan around it, speak from beneath it, and carry it into each new morning as though no other posture were possible. Peter’s invitation to cast our care upon God begins with the assurance of His care for us.
Name what you are carrying today. Be specific enough to bring the actual concern into prayer: a responsibility, an uncertainty, or a conversation you fear. You do not have to make the concern sound smaller before God will receive your honesty.
Then ask what faithful care looks like for your part. There may be an action to take or support to seek. Entrusting the burden to God does not erase responsibility; it challenges the belief that responsibility means carrying everything alone.
INSIGHT
Naming a burden in prayer helps distinguish faithful responsibility from solitary carrying.
REFLECTION
What concern has become a constant background weight?
What action or support belongs with entrusting it to God?
PRAYER
Father, I bring You the care I have been carrying. Help me name it honestly, attend to my part, and receive the support that reminds me I am not alone. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Bring the actual burden into prayer.
You are cared for within what you carry.
