EVENING EMBERS 068: PEACE AT THE TABLE
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 068
SCRIPTURE
“Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15
DEVOTIONAL
Paul joins peace with one body and with gratitude.
Peace is not only private calm. It changes how we sit with other people. It makes room for difference without contempt and receives ordinary gifts without treating them as owed.
At the end of this day, remember one person whose presence carried grace and one provision you nearly treated as ordinary. Give thanks. Where relationship remains strained, ask Christ to rule your heart before you attempt to rule the outcome.
Peace can begin at the table even before agreement arrives.
INSIGHT
Gratitude steadies communal peace by teaching us to recognize people and provisions as gifts rather than entitlements.
REFLECTION
Whose presence was a gift today?
Where can peace begin before full agreement is possible?
PRAYER
Christ, bring Your peace to every table I carry in my heart. Thank You for the people and provisions of this day. Teach me to live gratefully within Your body. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Peace has a place at the table.
Let gratitude prepare the seat.
