EVENING EMBERS 071: LIFT UP YOUR SOUL
MONDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 071
SCRIPTURE
“Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.”
Psalm 143:8
DEVOTIONAL
The soul gathers more than the hands can see.
It carries the tone of a conversation, the uncertainty of a decision, the relief of a mercy, and the ache of what remains unresolved. By evening, these things can feel tangled together.
The psalmist lifts his soul to God. He does not wait until it is orderly. He offers the whole interior weight—the parts that trusted and the parts that tightened around fear.
Lift the day from within you. God can receive what you do not yet know how to sort.
INSIGHT
Prayer becomes surrender when we entrust God with the unorganized contents of the heart.
REFLECTION
What has your soul gathered today?
What can be lifted to God without being resolved first?
PRAYER
Yahweh, I lift my soul to You with all it gathered today. Receive the gratitude, fear, confusion, and hope I cannot neatly separate. Hold me as I rest. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Lift up your soul.
God can hold what the day left tangled.
