EVENING EMBERS 073: THE LORD WAS NEAR
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 073
SCRIPTURE
“Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.”
Philippians 4:5
DEVOTIONAL
The nearness of God is not always felt with equal intensity.
Some moments carried peace. Others felt crowded by tension, hurry, or disappointment. Yet Paul’s words do not depend on our awareness: the Lord is at hand.
Look back for signs of nearness—a restraint you did not manufacture, a kindness received, courage for a needed word, or mercy after a failure. Where you missed His presence, you may still return now.
The Lord who was near in the day remains near in the dark.
INSIGHT
God’s nearness is a reality to receive, not a feeling we must successfully maintain.
REFLECTION
Where can you recognize God’s nearness in retrospect?
Which moment still needs to be brought near to Him?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for remaining near whether I noticed or not. Gather every moment of this day into Your presence and quiet me there tonight. Amen.
BENEDICTION
The Lord was near.
The Lord is near still.
