EVENING EMBERS 075: SMALL THINGS HELD
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 075
SCRIPTURE
“Indeed, who despises the day of small things?”
Zechariah 4:10
DEVOTIONAL
The day may not look impressive when gathered at night.
Perhaps you moved one task forward, kept one promise, interrupted one harmful habit, or offered one patient answer. The mind may say it was not enough because it cannot yet see the larger result.
Place these small things before God. Confess where you were careless, but do not erase what grace made possible. God is not embarrassed by incremental faithfulness.
Let the small good remain small and still be called good.
INSIGHT
Gratitude protects quiet faithfulness from being erased by our appetite for dramatic results.
REFLECTION
What small act of faithfulness deserves gratitude tonight?
What are you tempted to dismiss because it did not produce an immediate result?
PRAYER
God, receive the small things of this day. Forgive what I neglected, bless what was faithful, and keep me from overlooking the work of grace in ordinary measures. Amen.
BENEDICTION
The small things are held.
God can build with what seemed unfinished.
