EVENING EMBERS 079: LEARN WITHOUT CONDEMNATION
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 079
SCRIPTURE
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Even a careful day can leave a decision you would handle differently now.
New information arrives. A sentence reveals more impatience than you intended. You see that you answered the question too quickly. Regret can either teach you or become a room you cannot leave.
God gives wisdom without reproaching the person who asks. Come honestly with what needs correction. An apology, a revised decision, or a wiser practice may belong to tomorrow. Name it plainly rather than making a verdict against your entire life.
You are allowed to learn. Receive forgiveness where you need it and instruction where you lacked understanding. Let the lesson become a direction, not a punishment you repeat through the night.
INSIGHT
A truthful lesson points toward repair; condemnation keeps repeating the failure.
REFLECTION
What did today teach you about a decision or response?
What specific repair or change would honor that lesson?
PRAYER
God, receive the places where I acted without wisdom. Forgive what was wrong, teach me what I missed, and help me make the repair that belongs to me. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Keep the lesson.
Rest within the mercy that makes learning possible.
