EVENING EMBERS 082: THE WORK CAN BE OFFERED
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 082
SCRIPTURE
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
At evening, unfinished work can become a restless accounting of your value.
You count what remains and forget what received your attention. You compare your pace with someone else’s visible result. The day becomes a test you believe you should have passed more impressively.
Bring the work before the Lord. Name what was done well, what needs repair, and what must be resumed. Let the account be specific enough to guide tomorrow without becoming a condemnation of today.
Work offered to God can also be put down before Him. Your calling includes being a person who needs sleep, food, relationship, and rest. Leave the task in its proper place and receive the evening as part of a faithful life.
INSIGHT
Offering work to God includes surrendering the belief that continual labor must prove our worth.
REFLECTION
What completed effort have you overlooked tonight?
What unfinished task needs a plan rather than another hour of worry?
PRAYER
Father, receive the work of this day. Correct what needs correction and bless what served others. Help me put down the task and receive rest without making it something I must earn. Amen.
BENEDICTION
The work has been offered.
You may put it down for tonight.
