SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 090
SCRIPTURE
“Be still, and know that I am God:”
Psalm 46:10 (KJV, excerpt)
DEVOTIONAL
The house grows quiet, but something in you remains on duty.
You check once more, rehearse one more possibility, and listen inwardly for the next problem. Necessary vigilance can become a habit that continues after the actual responsibility has ended.
Attend to what truly needs securing tonight. Then notice the difference between a reasonable preparation and another round of trying to guarantee tomorrow. Psalm 46 does not make us the refuge of the world. It directs us toward God.
Let prayer become a handover of the watch you cannot keep. You are a creature with limits, and sleep is part of your life before God. You may stop for the night without requiring the world to become free of uncertainty first.
INSIGHT
Rest acknowledges that our care is real but our control is limited.
REFLECTION
What reasonable preparation is enough for tonight?
Which watch are you trying to keep beyond your capacity?
PRAYER
Lord, receive the watch I cannot keep. Help me finish what is necessary, release needless checking, and rest as someone sheltered by Your care. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Put down the watch that is not yours.
Rest within the care of God.
