EVENING EMBERS 031: WHAT ENTERED THE HEART
TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 031
SCRIPTURE
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.”
Proverbs 4:23
DEVOTIONAL
The heart has been receiving all day.
Words entered. Images entered. Hurry, beauty, irritation, gratitude, and fear all passed near the spring. Some things were welcomed. Others arrived without invitation and remained longer than they should.
Evening is a good time to notice what you carried inside.
Do not inspect your heart like an enemy searching for evidence. Sit with God like a keeper tending water. Give thanks for what brought life. Release what poisoned peace. Name what needs healing rather than hiding it beneath sleep.
The spring does not have to cleanse itself.
INSIGHT
Guarding the heart includes allowing God to remove what the day deposited there.
REFLECTION
What entered your heart today and brought life?
What entered and should not remain overnight?
PRAYER
God, sift what this day placed within me. Preserve what is true and life-giving. Wash away resentment, fear, and every image that does not belong. Keep the spring in Your care. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Let the day release its sediment.
God is tending the water.
