The week is finished. Let the soul come home.

Bring back the part of you still standing in Monday’s worry. Call home the part still arguing with Thursday. Release the part that has already run ahead to next week.

You are here, at the evening edge, with God.

Gather the lessons worth keeping. Confess the failures without building a shelter inside them. Give thanks for the mercies that held. Then let the week become complete.

Rest is not forgetting the road. It is trusting that God can keep what the road taught you while you sleep.

INSIGHT

A soul comes home when it releases every hour except the one in which God is presently meeting it.

PRAYER

Yahweh, gather my scattered attention and bring my soul home. Keep what was true, forgive what failed, and quiet what has already rushed ahead. Let me rest here with You. Amen.
