MIDDAY BEARINGS 060: CAST THE WEIGHT
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 060
SCRIPTURE
“Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
DEVOTIONAL
Some burdens have to be released more than once.
You cast the worry toward God in prayer, then discover it back on your shoulders before lunch. Repeated surrender is not proof that the first prayer was false. It is how anxious hearts learn a new movement.
Pause and release the weight again. Be specific. This person. This decision. This bill. This outcome.
God is not annoyed by your return. His care has not grown tired.
INSIGHT
Repeated surrender trains the heart to place its weight where it can actually be carried.
REFLECTION
What worry returned after you released it?
Can you cast it again without condemning yourself?
PRAYER
God, this weight returned to my shoulders. I give it to You again. Teach my heart the repeated movement of trust and keep me near Your care. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Cast the weight again.
God has not grown tired of receiving it.
