MIDDAY BEARINGS 037: WISDOM FOR THIS HOUR

SCRIPTURE

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.”

James 1:5

DEVOTIONAL

You may not need the whole map by noon.

You may need wisdom for the conversation in ten minutes, the choice sitting on your desk, or the tone you bring into the next room. We often demand complete clarity because partial light requires trust.

God gives wisdom generously, but wisdom is not always advance knowledge of every turn. Sometimes it is the grace to move slowly. Sometimes it is the courage to say no. Sometimes it is restraint—the choice not to answer while anger is still speaking.

Ask for wisdom sized to this hour. Then pay attention to what produces truth, mercy, humility, and peace without asking you to abandon faithfulness.

INSIGHT

Wisdom often appears as the next faithful posture before it appears as a complete plan.

REFLECTION

What does this particular hour require from you?

Would wisdom look like action, waiting, speaking, or silence?

PRAYER

Father, give me wisdom for the hour I am actually in. Guard me from panic, presumption, and haste. Make the next step clear enough to obey. Amen.
